Marston Grange Holiday CottageMarston Grange is also able to offer self-catering accommodation in a charming red brick old workers’ cottage located at the end of the farm track.  Surrounded by open countryside and just over a mile from the village of Long Marston in one direction and Tockwith village in the other the cottage is a converted barn built upon the site of the Battle of Marston Moor on the Parliamentarian side.

The cottage provides ideal self catering accommodation for those wishing to enjoy the many attractions of York and nearby Harrogate, but with easy access to beautiful countryside. Well-presented throughout, the cottage has a cosy and comfortable sitting room with a warming wood burning stove, and a fully-equipped modern kitchen with views over open fields. There are two pretty bedrooms, a downstairs bathroom and a welcoming and homely feel throughout.

Outside is an enclosed patio area and an attractive rear lawned garden - a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the view over the open moor as far as the White Horse at Sutton Bank.Marston grange Holiday Cottage

Nearby are designated cycling routes to Wetherby and Harrogate including the A59 York – Harrogate route which formed part of the Tour de France in 2014 - and public footpaths for walkers in every direction from your doorstep.  There are outside sheds which provide secure storage for bicycles and the front gravel driveway can park 2 cars easily.

The market town of Wetherby is your nearest town centre with interesting boutique shops, bars and restaurants as well as the racecourse which not only provides racing but also antique and boot fairs.

The City of York, with its famous Minster, National Railway Museum, races and the Jorvik Viking Centre is just 20 mins drive from the cottage, or you can use the new park and ride on the A59.  There are also local buses which will take you direct to the town centre or railway station.  

Marston grange Holiday CottageEqually easy to drive to is the wonderful old spa town of Harrogate, with its elegant buildings, immaculate gardens and numerous restaurants and pubs, or Leeds, with its great shops and night life.  Harewood House, Harlow Carr gardens and Castle Howard are also an easy drive away - the cottage provides a perfect base all year round, whatever your interests.
